We cycle down to the new "Canon" jetty and get our tickets for the 12 o'clock boat (also called "pinasse"). Thanks to the 35mn' crossing of the Arcachon's basin, we enjoy a dry picnic.
A lovely and pleasant cycle path leads us from the Arcachon's jetty down to the Mouleau's jetty, whereby we stop to buy nice ice-creams (au "cornet d'amour").
The cycle path disappears (or is available only on the other side) until the Pyla sand dune's foot. The cycle path reappears then along the roadside, and climbs up a series of small hills along the sand dune. There are many campings along the road, among which the famous camping named after the
movie is the most noticeable !
We buy some fresh fruits in a barracks next to the "petit Nice" neighborhoud. At that point and at last, the path leaves the road and crosses the pine forest.
One would be inclined to stop and camp in this calm and charming place ! But we end up in the
Campeole le Vivier camping, the first one we bump into after entering Biscarosse-Plage. Not really nature and wild: more than 1000 camp and mobile home spaces ! However we find a peaceful place and mount our brand new 4 people tent. The children enjoy the swimming full a lot (after I went and fetched some new arm bands for Timothée).
For diner: sausage-french fries, cheeseburger, tomato, vegetarian risotto (dehydrated) and brugnons.
